A helmet equipped with MIPS® (Multi-Directional Impact Protection System) technology consists of three main parts: an EPS polystyrene shell, a MIPS® sliding insert, and elastomers that connect the first two parts. In the event of an angled impact, the elastomers stretch, allowing the helmet shell to move slightly relative to the MIPS® sliding insert, thereby absorbing rotational forces.
