They are made of vinyl membrane, patches are designed to repair a torn or otherwise damaged casing.
The patches are glued to the damaged area inside the casing.
Before use, clean the casing at the point of damage and dry it. Attention, this is not a permanent repair, but first aid for a similar defect on a hike, training, etc.
