A helmet equipped with MIPS® (Multi-Directional Impact Protection System) technology consists of three main parts: an EPS polystyrene shell, a MIPS® sliding insert and elastomers that connect the first two parts. In the event of an angled impact, the elastomers stretch, allowing slight movement of the helmet shell against the MIPS® sliding insert, absorbing rotational forces.
