VISION wheels METRON40 SL RB Tub SH11 V17

The Vision Metron 40 SL wheels are based on 40 mm high aerodynamic galus rims made of UD carbon with a width of 24.8 mm and a special treatment of the braking surface, thanks to which the braking properties in both dry and wet conditions have been significantly improved.
The specific "U" profile of the rims was developed based on extensive CFD analyzes and tested in a wind tunnel. It guarantees excellent controllability and stiffness of the wheels under any conditions, especially when driving in crosswinds.
The wheels are mounted on Vision hubs of the second generation equipped with PRA (Preload Reduction Assembly) technology and high-quality bearings to minimize friction and maximize energy transfer efficiency on the 17mm inner axle.
The rear hub has undergone significant changes, while the new hub body has a 6mm increased distance between the flanges, a 12mm higher flange on the cassette side, which results in improved triangulation and significantly higher stiffness of the rear wheel.
It contains 2 pieces of 6903ACB (Angular Contact Bearings) with angular contact, which have raceways between the inner and outer rings offset in the direction of the bearing axis. High running accuracy is ensured thanks to the optimized internal construction, which enables the capture of simultaneously acting radial and axial loads.
Changes also come in the area of the nut, which has a 5mm greater distance between the bearings and wider latches.
The front wheel contains a radial braid consisting of 16 wires.
The rear wheel contains 21 wires braided in a ratio of 2:1 - 14 wires crossed 3 times from the right side of the cassette + 7 radial wires from the left side.
The duralumin nut is compatible with FSA, Shimano and Sram 9/10/11Speed road cassettes.
The wheels come complete with SwissStop brake blocks, a transport bag, valve extension adapters and Vision QR-93 quick-release axles.
